I realized I had more money than I thought I did, so I went to order the yarn for Fire Dragon Year.  There are two colors sold out and unavailable till the end of May--one of which is the red I wanted to use.  The other one, naturally, is the plain linen color.

So my prototype Fire Dragon is going to be a water dragon instead; I ordered the blue, which is one of the two acceptable colors that is available.  The purple would be too dark and I'm not waiting till nearly June to get this pattern knitted.

I was planning to do the thing in the round, but I think side seams will help counteract the weight of the cotton/linen blend so flat it is.  I'm kind psyched about the whole thing, I must say.
