On my drive to campus this evening I was reminded how much I love wisteria--it's one of those spring flowers, and I've only really become aware of it the last few years because it doesn't grow around my mom's house. Chinese wisteria is rather invasive around here, but at least unlike ivy (or wild grape) it doesn't actively kill any other tree it grows on.
The various fruit trees and their ornamental cousins are all going great guns; hopefully the chilly snap we're supposed to have in the next few days doesn't kill them. And I still don't like sycamores; any tree that looks like the end of a long summer drought in April has got some things not to recommend it.
