Would you want the rows in your garden to be labelled with singulars or plurals?
Singular: there's only one kind of plant there
Plural: since there's more than one plant, the label should reflect that
Don't care: as long as I can read it, the details are unimportant

Impressed. Also Scared.

As I may have mentioned, I sent off the spare yarn from Autumn Rose to a lady I met on Ravelry .  In return, she sent me some yarn she didn't want anymore, two skeins of KnitPicks Essential and a selection of Telemark .

The Telemark is in a selection of nice earthy colors, and something about the combination made me think of the Dr Who scarf --you know, that monstrous thing that Tom Baker wears through his tenure as the Doctor.  So I thought, gee, might be fun to find a pattern and see if it could be written up for using Telemark, which would make ~20 feet of scarf a little more affordable for the knitting Whovians out there (or the Whovians with understanding knitters in their lives...).

So off to Yahoo! I go, and I type in "dr who scarf pattern".  And what to my wondering eyes should appear but this page , constructed by someone who (uh, no pun intended) has...well, a little more free time than I've got, I imagine.  Four different versions of the Scarf, complete with which chunks you should take out (or not knit, though that would be less authentic) if you want your scarf to match a specific episode.

Now I'm well aware that, when it comes to spending large amounts of time on something others consider silly, the walls of my home are of distinctly crystalline construction.  And yet I am in awe.  Imagine taking that much time and effort to work all that out...
