Singular: there's only one kind of plant there
Plural: since there's more than one plant, the label should reflect that

I seem to have missed some lightning and thunder by the skin of my teeth, so we'll have to see what it's like when it's time to head home.  In the meantime, Heian-kyo is surprisingly warm, even with the wind blowing.  Then again it's 65 degrees out there and the thing is made of fairly thick cotton.  I just hope it's not too bad going home, because getting really sweaty is never any fun.
