In Her Web She Still Delights

Sneaky

I've noticed something about a number of the characters I've made recently (=the last few years).

First, the list: Astrid, the deaf walker-through-walls of Mutants and Masterminds; she was a cat burgler even before her powers manifested.  Cordelia, who can talk anyone out of anything and gets into and out of places she shouldn't pretty much at will by sheer force of personality.  Octavia, the Neon Fox, hacker extraordinaire--even after you see your files plastered all over the Matrix, you won't be able to figure out how she got them.  Tanith the archer: go ahead and run, you'll just die tired and chances are good you're running towards where the arrows are coming from anyway.

Now, of course these women all have significant differences.  Just to name one, Cordelia's the Personality that Walks like a Halfling, Astrid never bothered learning much about how to interact with hearing people, Octavia was reasonably pleasant as long as you weren't distracting her from something more interesting--and. lest you get your hopes up, most things are more interesting--and Tanith has Issues that cause her to not get along well with anyone with a Y chromosome.

But in one important respect, they are all quite similar.  They're all big fans of hiding, sneaking, misdirecting, and stealth.  The method of applying the stealth is different from character to character, and the connection is a bit tenuous in Tanith's case, but I think this all says something about my philosophy of life.  I'm not sure what, exactly, except to note that I know how to pick locks, a skill that comes in handy when my boss locks her keys in her office.
