Lawyer shows may not be as popular as cop shows, but they do have a steady niche.
LA Law lasted forever, and these days there's
Boston Legal (a show whose appeal I will
never understand) and
Shark, and I think one or two set in New York (and
Century City, about LA lawyers but
in the future-ure-ure!). But you don't get a lot of those shows set in Da 'Burgh, with the exception of the short-lived
The Guardian a few years back; more to the point, almost all lawyer shows are criminal law because it makes for better drama, with the occasional foray into fun lawsuits. I think it's quite unlikely you're going to get a show with personal injury lawyers in the near future, let alone
personal injury lawyers in PA, if for no other reason than that they have a reputation--undeserved by nearly all of them--of being ambulance chasers. Though that could be a fun premise, especially if the firm's founder or senior partner--someone with a lot of influence--actually
is an ambulance chaser. Hmmm. I sense a pitch in my future...
