I do believe I have mentioned the
LED Christmas lights before, but they're not getting any less cool with time so I think they're worthy of another mention. The basic rundown is that LED lights use anywhere from 80 to 90% less electricity--this means that they're far cheaper to run, so you could have twice as many lights as you usually use and still be running on about 20% the power. And using less power also means they're all envoronmentally friendly and stuff, and since I am a confirmed tree hugger I'm sure you can all see where I'm on board with that. Plus--as an extra added bonus--the using less power thing also translates into generating less heat, so there's much less risk that your tree is going to go up in flames over the holiday season (I find that house fires tend to put
such a damper on the festivites, don't you?). They come in three or four different configurations, in two kinds of white (a cool white and a warm white) and a multicolor option, so it's not as if you can't find a set of strands that fits your preferences, and though they're pricier than the conventional bulbs they've also got like a 50-year guarantee. So it's not like you're going to have to replace them any time soon...
