Would you want the rows in your garden to be labelled with singulars or plurals?
Singular: there's only one kind of plant there
Plural: since there's more than one plant, the label should reflect that
Don't care: as long as I can read it, the details are unimportant

Drinking, Games

posted Thursday, 5 April 2007

So the problem with drinking games for me is that there's not a lot of point going on if you don't drink.  Because the idea of such games is that every time you mess up, you drink, thus getting progressively drunker and more likely to mess up again.  When there's no alcohol involved, no one gets any drunker and it's just a quiz game or mild test of manual dexterity.  Not that there's anything wrong with that kind of passtime, but since these things tend to be scaled to be possible when mildly tipsy, for the cold sober they're not usually going to be challenging enough to stay interesting for long.

That being said...who the heck knew there were so many of the darn things?  Seriously, check out that link; there are easily two hundred games on the list.  I expect a fair number of them are slight variations on each other, but still; I had no idea there were so many games designed to be played while drunk with nothing but the equipment you can find in your average local bar/pub.  It's awe-inspiring, in its own strange, mundane way.  And I'll bet there are even more games out there that just haven't made the list yet.
