I order the office supplies for my department, and this occasionally leads to humor or at least puzzlement. Such is the case today: we can get four colors of otherwise identical highlighter in yellow, pink, green or blue. The prices for all four varieties are different, being $1.57, $1.42, $1.44, and $4.03 respectively. I have no idea why blue ink should be so much more expensive than yellow, pink or green (nor why they didn't just make all of yellow, pink and green the same price, say $1.55), but that's the only reason I can think of for the price difference between types.
