Thursday they made some changes to Ikariam, which is the browser game I've been playing for a week or so, and I have to say I'm not impressed. Aside from having to build and upgrade very expensive buildings lest I lose production to corruption, I'm also noticing that they've included a micropayment system: pay small amounts of real world money for little in-game bonuses. Which in theory I've got no problem with, but in practice it's mildly annoying; those of us who don't want to spend real world money will now be outcompeted by those who don't mind.
I do rather like the new info available at the town hall, though, so all is not lost.
