I Am Not Stupid
Can someone explain to me the urge to comment repeatedly on one's own haplessness, carelessness, clumsiness, etc etc? It happens all the time in the blogs I read and I don't get it.
I mean, sure, sometimes I screw up, and once I get done being pissed at myself for being stupid it even occasionally makes a funny story1. But it's not exactly a staple of my blogging, you know? But then you get the folks who are constantly making comments about "I'm such a spaz" or "I can't really do this, I'm just faking it" or "my completely lacking $ABILITY skills" or whatever. What is up with that? Is it just a bad case of imposter syndrome? If so, why do so many of the really prolific bloggers do it?
I mean, no, I don't think one ought to spend all one's time talking about how fabulous one is. But that doesn't mean I think one ought to start every announcement of failure or error with "Typically of me..." or words to that effect, either.

It could just be a self-depreciation that is fairly comming with social
insecurity and low self-esteem. Just because you're blogging, doesn't mean
that the blogger is a high esteem socialite.
