I'm done with the Fire Dragon swatch, and I still love the yarn. I measured it before I washed it to get an idea of the working gauge, and then dumped it in hot water and swished it around quite a lot. It bled quite a bit at first, but by the third rinse the water was clear. Not bad for a bright red, overall, and the washing really brought out the texture pattern.
As far as I can tell, the gauge hasn't changed much. It's just slightly shorter and wider, which is not a surprise with a plant fiber, but only very slightly. Which means I can start making calculations and figuring out yarn and stuff. I'm not likely to be able to buy the yarn till the next time I get paid, but if I can keep going at a reasonable pace I can have this done in plenty of time for other people to make summer sweaters.
