The Big Kahuna
This is a CSI crossover with a movie. (Which movie should become clear fairly quickly.) It's set in Season 2, between "And Then There Were None" and "Ellie". These characters are not mine, I'm making no money, and suing me wouldn't get you anything much anyway. Enjoy.
The Big Kahuna
"Hey, Sara!" Greg Sanders said enthusiastically. "I thought you and Nick were out at that thing at the condos in Summerlin." He pushed his chair back from the lab bench and stood up to greet her; not only was she cute, but she had evidence to run. It had been a slow night in the crime lab.
"We were. When we tried to take his fingerprints the guy panicked and tried to run. Once the officers took him down he started crying and confessed." Sara Sidle offered him the evidence bag. "Run this anyway, just in case he recants, OK?"
Greg bowed. "Your wish is my command, ma cherie." He straightened and took the bag from her. "So did you see the blackout?" he asked.
Sara rolled her eyes. "See it? The Denali stopped." Greg paused in mid-motion and looked at her skeptically. "You're kidding," he said.
"Nope. The engine cut out, Nick and I had no idea what was going on. But when the lights came back it started up again." She leaned against the doorframe, looking thoughtful. "I can't think of anything that would do that except an EMP."
"Have to be a pretty powerful pulse to kill the Denali at a distance," Greg said.
"No kidding. Nick said--" Sara was cut off by a commotion in the hall; it was their supervisor, Gil Grissom, gathering people in his wake. He spotted Sara but didn't stop, just pointed at her.
"Sara, get your kit," Grissom said briskly. "We've got work to do."
"What's up?" Sara asked, waving apologetically at Greg as she turned to follow Grissom.
He answered her without slowing. "Someone just robbed the Bellagio."
