Right. Finished the hat, sewed it together, realized it looked like a head covering for a mutant, took out the stitching, sewed it together again right. OK, fine.
I think I have enough yarn for booties (and also the yarn for the Viking sweater is languishing in the Leetsdale sortation center), so I looked at the pattern. It goes like this:
Work the sole first, then the toe, then then ankle. Work back and forth and sew together when finished. Done in garter stitch [like the sweater and hat, no surprise].
CO 31.Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9: KnitRow 2: Sl 1, k1, inc 1, k13, inc 1, k1, inc 1, k13, inc1, k2Rows 4, 6 and 8 are the same but with one more knit in the bits between the increases.After row 9, k28, *turn, sl 1st stitch, k7, k2tog*, repeat between * till 10 sts remain on each side.Knit 3 rows.Eyelet row: k1, yo, k2tog across.Garter stitch 36 rows.Work 7 rows of k1p1 rib, BO loosely.
I dunno about you all, but that makes no sense whatsoever to me. I'm just going to do the generic booties, once I have my remaining yarn done up into two half-size balls.
Y'know, when you're tired in the morning, misreading a "t" as a "b" can
lend a *whole* new interpretation to the phrase "confusing_booties."
