Would you want the rows in your garden to be labelled with singulars or plurals?
Singular: there's only one kind of plant there
Plural: since there's more than one plant, the label should reflect that
Don't care: as long as I can read it, the details are unimportant

Progress Quest!

posted Thursday, 15 March 2007

You know, some people are just too clever.  Case in point: the programmers of Progress Quest.  You install it, you create a character...and then the game runs without you actually having to interact with it.  The character runs around and kills things, gaining experience and spells, without any intervention on your part whatsoever.  Too funny, if a bit of a pointed commentary on "the grind" of MMORPGs in general.  The only key command listed in the "manual" is Alt-F4, to quit.  There's even pretentious backstory, though it leaves out important details like whether my loot's going to be silver or gold and how pretty the game is when running.  Windows only, I fear.

No, I am not "playing" Progress Quest.  I just think it's a vastly amusing thing to point out.
