I got well down into the foot of the first Ocean Toes (a Cedar variant from New Pathways) before trying it on--the theory was that trying to put it on when it was still just past the heel would not be very informative. Unfortunately, trying to put it on was exactly what I did; the choke point just wouldn't fit over my heel without an amount of tugging that put the integrity of the yarn in danger. I have a feeling that this is going to be an issue with most of the top-down patterns in the book, because of the way the increases interact with the heel shaping and because I have freakishly high arches1.
So anyway, I frogged it. I think I'll do another pair of Coriolis, with yarnovers instead of kf&b. Coriolis, being toe-up, fits beautifully.
1: Liam does too, and further his feet are very close to mine in size despite the fact that he's a foot taller than I am. If socks are just a tiny bit loose on me they fit him perfectly, and he can wear my socks in a pinch. It's kind of odd.
