Blizzard has opened a bunch of new servers in preparation for the Burning Crusade expansion that's coming out next weekend. One of them, Sisters of Elune, is a RP server, and since I'm a weenie who can't play like a REAL MAN, I'm only really interested in RP and PvE servers1.
Character creation on the new servers was disabled last night when I noticed them; either there's some lag between when the server goes technically up and when it's ready for characters, or Blizzard is keeping them open for when BC goes live2. I'll try again tonight and see.
In any case, while I am delighted with my guild (on Earthen Ring for the Alliance and Scarlet Crusade for the Horde), I think it might be interesting to try my luck on a very young server. For example, I'll bet I could make gobs of money doing nothing but farming leather, herbs, cloth and metals. Well, three out of four as one character can't have all of Skinning, Herbalism and Mining, but the principle holds...
1: I see very little fun in getting ganked by someone 10 levels higher than me while I'm trying to kill my 6 Young Thistle Boars, you know?
2: I think this would be a terribly bad idea, as a whole server of nothing but draeni and blood elf jewelcrafters will get boring fast.
Ooh! Ooh! Arygos, as soon as character creation gets turned on for it!
What's your character's name there? And is it a PvP realm? Because I am
not into PvP...
Gelato, primarily (frost mage). Occasionally Salinger (rogue). Both
Alliance. And it's a PvE server with an East Coast system clock - I've
toyed with characters on PvP servers, but it's not really my bag either.
