In Her Web She Still Delights

It's Official

I really, really need a yard.  I can't grow irises in the pots I've got; they're just not big enough and there isn't room for the rhizomes to get enough energy to make actual flower spikes.  I transplant them, they spread out in the spring, and then they're too crowded again to bloom when blooming season comes.

I mention this because I got my order today from Rainbow Iris Farms: Baltic Star, Lullaby of Spring, Blatant, Best Bet and Braggadoccio--that last being a substitution because they lost most of their plants in the one I wanted in a frost this spring and had to keep what they had left for breeding stock.  I have an extra Blatant and Lullaby of Spring which are free for the taking, and it would not be out of the question to separate my older plants as well (though one of them--I think it's Radiant Apogee, but it might have been Night Edition--rotted out over last winter because I failed to pay enough attention).
