I just took one of those tests that purports to measure the innate sex of your brain. I scored pretty much smack dab in the middle--I have an androgynous (hermaphroditic?) brain. I suspect that, the smarter1 one is, the more likely one is to score towards the center; the increase in overall ability starts swamping sex-based variation.
I am a little peeved that I could only come up with 9 "grey" things, and 9 synonyms for "happy", in a minute, though. And I just thought of "gleeful" right now. Depending on how much that portion of the test was weighted, more words might have swung me into definitively female.
It occurs to me that I am kinda multiple-personalitied when it comes to this kind of thing. I mean, I'm girly in a lot of ways (hairstyle, dress, sexual preference, linguistic ability), but a lot of the things I enjoy are traditionally masculine--for a long time Conan the Barbarian was in my Top Five Favorite Movies list, and I like roleplaying games and model building, and I'm fabulous at the kind of logic puzzle where you have to figure out which of Alice, Bob, Carla, Don and Eve lives in the blue (red, green, yellow, purple) house with the zebra (lion, tiger, koala, kangaroo) and likes oranges (apples, peaches, plums, pears).
1: Or at least, the better one is at taking this sort of test.
I wouldn't necessarily lump your hairstyle as girly. I mean, yeah, it's
long. But when I think "girly" I think of the kind of hairstyles that
require lots of maintenance and 30 minutes to style every morning.
How about "feminine", then? Which was what I was really going for: I look
pretty traditionally feminine, most of the time.
