Would you want the rows in your garden to be labelled with singulars or plurals?
Singular: there's only one kind of plant there
Plural: since there's more than one plant, the label should reflect that
Don't care: as long as I can read it, the details are unimportant

At Long Last

posted Thursday, 22 February 2007

I have at last managed to both know where the camera was and have time to muck with pictures, so here we go: the Anemoi mittens, courtesy of a pattern by Eunny Jang.  The picture isn't fabulous, but I think you can get the idea.

Anemoi mittens, tan MC and green CC, in Elann Baby Cashmere

Note that the reason the cast on is a little loopy is because I didn't do Eunny's recommended tubular CO; after attempting it and not liking the results three times, I gave up and went for a conventional crochet CO.  I have no idea why the thumb on the left mitten looks so pointy, because it's not in real life.

What I really love about these this that the pattern on the back of the hand is neither geometric nor symmetrical; it's organic and flowing.  The simple checkerboard of the thumb and the diamond pattern on the palm (which I didn't get a shot of) are nicely contrasted.

Coming up next: pictures of the cats!  Because what would a knitting blog be without pictures of my cats?
